-
Drawing from members of local Cleveland bands, The
Choir and Cyrus Erie, Raspberries form. The band is
comprised of members, Eric Carmen, Wally Bryson, Jim
Bonfanti and John Aleksic.
-
In direct opposition to the era’s progressive rock
movement, typified by instrumental noodling and
extended solos, Raspberries musical mission is
simple.; they aim to to rekindle the magic and
melodicism of Sixties bands like The Beatles, The
Beach Boys, The Who, Small Faces, Rolling Stones,
The Kinks, The Byrds, The Left Banke and others.
-
Raspberries perform their first live show on October
16, 1970 at Cyrus Erie in North Ridgeville, Ohio.
-
December 1970, John Aleksic departs Raspberries. The
band continues for a short time as a three-piece.
